It is important to understand some things about computer viruses. It is entirely true that any clever programmer can get around any protection device that another may throw up. Some get a hopeless attitude because of this, believing that viruses can never be stopped. This is not true. There are only 5 viruses in the Mac World that have obtained any wide circulation. Once a virus is written and released, it continues to circulate until all copies of it are gone. As long as someone has it on a disk somewhere, it spreads again. What this means is that new and different Mac viruses are few. All this fear and difficulty is the result of the work of only 5 demented individuals.
